Design Engineer – Bridges (Steel Structures)
Ramboll, a leading transportation infrastructure consultancy, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join us as the Design Engineer – Bridges (Steel Structures) for our domestic transportation business at Gurugram and Mumbai office.
Responsibilities
- To perform design and analysis of steel and composite bridge structures using advanced FEM software such as SOFiSTiK and MIDAS.
- Apply national/international bridge design standards and codes, with emphasis on IRC, Eurocode compliance.
- To prepare calculation reports, technical specifications and quantity take-offs and provide input for design drawings during all phases of projects.
- To coordinate with team members and ensure delivery of projects within specified timeframe.
- To develop steel detailing drawings and fabrication specifications in accordance with project requirements.
- To perform QA checks on the designs and drawings produced to ensure quality delivery.
- To communicate design solutions clearly to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- About 4-6 years of experience in transportation infrastructure projects with a proven record of successful detailed design project delivery in steel and steel-concrete composite bridge design.
- Strong knowledge of IRC codes and standards and other international codes including Eurocodes.
- Familiarity with BIM processes in bridge projects.
- Experience in coordination with fabrication and erection teams.
- Structured working style with result-oriented approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
