Job summary

OMRON Industrial Automation India is seeking a skilled service engineer to optimize AOI, AXI and SPI systems, tune inspection algorithms, and ensure precise defect detection with minimal false calls. You will lead installation, validation and commissioning of systems at customer sites, while staying abreast of advancements in machine vision technology.

The role requires 3–6 years in service with AOI/AXI/SPI, SMT process understanding, and IPC QA familiarity.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years in service with AOI/AXI/SPI programming, installation and commissioning.
• Strong SMT manufacturing process and quality control knowledge.
• Experience with machine vision and image processing algorithms.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and QA practices.

Responsibilities

• Optimize AOI/AXI/SPI machine settings and inspection algorithms for accurate defect detection with minimal false calls.
• Plan and execute setup, installation and validation of AOI, AXI/SPI systems and commissioning.
• Stay updated on AOI/AXI/SPI tech trends and best practices.
• Project management, communication and negotiation with customers.
• Provide pre/post-sales technical support and training to customers and internal teams.

Job description

1.AOI (Automated optical inspection),SPI (Solder Paste Inspection),and AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection) machines System Optimization: 40%

1.1 SMT experience, inspection process experience, Omron or other inspection tuning experience, hardware maintenance experience, Windows OS knowledge

1.2 Analyse and optimize AOI, AXI & SPI machine settings and inspection algorithms to achieve accurate defect detection with minimum false calls

1.3 Setup, Installation and validation of AOI, AXI & SPI systems to ensure the quality and performance to complete the commissioning.

1.4 Stay updated with the latest advancements in AOI, AXI & SPI technology, industry trends, and best practices

1.5 Project management, communication and negotiation skill.

2.Customer Support: 30% 2.1 Serve as a technical point of contact for customers, addressing their enquiries, concerns, and providing solutions to technical challenges

2.2 Provide training and guidance to customers' technical teams on the setup, operation, and maintenance of AOI systems

2.3 Conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams on the operation and maintenance of AOI, AXI, and SPI equipment.

3. Technical Support: 20%

3.1 Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for AOI, AXI, and SPI systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful implementation.

3.2 Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to inspection systems, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.

4. Documentation and reports: 10%

4.1 Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, application notes, and troubleshooting guides.

Job Requirements :

B.E or Equivalent Diploma

3-6 years of experience in service field specifically with AOI, AXI, and SPI programming, installation & commissioning.

Strong understanding of SMT electronic manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.

Experience with machine vision systems and image processing algorithms.

Familiarity with IPC standards and quality assurance practices
