Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking engineering professionals for the FACTS Solution Line in Noida with hybrid working flexibility. You will develop control algorithms for STATCOM/FACTS applications, perform dynamic simulations, and contribute to testing, validation, and documentation for international projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Design, Hardware, Protection, SCADA and commissioning teams, with a focus on robust control performance and support for site activities.

Qualifications

  • 2–6 years of experience in Substation/FACTS/HVDC projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in STATCOM/FACTS/HVDC projects.
  • Experience in utility-scale grid integration and EHV substations preferred.
  • BTech/MTech degree in Electrical Engineering preferably in Power System.
  • Strong prioritizing and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities; team-oriented with ownership and accountability.
  • Effective communication with global teams.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Desire to work in international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control algorithms for STATCOM and FACTS applications.
  • Perform power system studies and dynamic simulations using PSCAD, MATLAB Simulink etc.
  • Participate in control software testing, including simulation, offline testing, and real-time testing using RSCAD/RTDS.
  • Develop, validate and optimize control functions including voltage control, reactive power control, current control and fault ride through.
  • Build and maintain RMS & EMT simulation models for control design and system performance validation.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Test, Site Commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, simulation reports, control philosophy, and software release documents.
  • Provide technical support during customer discussions and project execution.
  • Collaborate with System Design, Control Hardware, Protection, SCADA and commissioning teams.

Job Description Summary

GE Vernova delivers reactive power compensators such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensators (SVC), on which we are the global FACTS Solution Line based in Finland, India, Brazil and US. These systems are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. We are looking for Engineering Professionals to join the FACTS Solution Line team. The position will be based in Noida, India with hybrid working flexibility. You will be working on cutting edge technology and varied international high-profile projects. In this position, you will be reporting to Engineering Manager – Control Software, Noida office and it can be considered a top priority position to perform in a critical engineering discipline for overall FACTS business.
