Job summary

GE Renewable Energy Technologies Private Limited seeks a Software Engineer for Controls Platform SW to design, develop, and test desktop applications used to configure and manage control systems for power plants.

You will work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams, applying C#/.NET, WinForms/WPF, and modular architecture to deliver reliable software while contributing to documentation and code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or STEM from an accredited college/university.
• 2–5 years of professional experience developing desktop applications, preferably in .Net using C#.
• Experience with WinForms/WPF and modular, n‑tier architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software modules or components for desktop applications.
• Collaborate with internal customers/users across global teams to understand requirements.

Job description

As a software engineer of Controls Platform SW team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing software products used for configuring and managing control system for a power plant application. You will work closely with our teams across Power, network and collaborate with experts. You will be using contemporary software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to deliver innovative software solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile development environment
• Design and develop a small module or a large component, feature, set of features or entire software product.
• Develop desktop applications and complex software solutions based on C#.net technology
• Collaborate with internal customers / users in a global environment to fully understand user stories and use cases
• Lead multiple products at once, including the maintenance of legacy applications
• Build customized product documentation for fellow developers as well as users
• In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters.
• Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to perform complex tasks.
• Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s / Master Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college/university.
• 2-5 years of professional experience of developing desktop applications, preferably in .Net technology using C# language.
• Experience with WinForms / WPF
• Should have good knowledge on building modular applications based on n-tier architecture with sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Design principles.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge of Software Design Patterns, Test-driven Development practices and modern coding principles
• Understanding on principles of SDLC and methodologies such as CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
• Experience with Multithread and Asynchronous programming
• Experience working with Industry protocols like MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, FF, CAN, Ethernet
