Job summary

Motherson Group in Pune, India seeks a hands-on Maintenance & Automation Professional to manage and optimize industrial equipment upkeep. You will diagnose faults, service automated assembly lines and robotics, and implement Kaizen-driven improvements to reduce downtime and costs.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with automation, PM/RCAs, and a track record of maintaining diverse equipment including robots from ABB, Wittmann, Yaskawa, Epson, Star and Kawasaki.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in industrial automation, assembly systems and robotics.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams for fault diagnosis.
• Experience with maintenance data and KPIs (MTTR, MTBF) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of automated assembly machines, SPMs and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Two-Part Applicator Systems such as Fin Diemme and Graco.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Leakage Testing, Light Testing, Annealing Ovens, Vibration Welding, Brass Insert, Screwdriver, Scanner and Printer systems.
• Carry out electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting to identify and rectify equipment failures.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams and mechanical drawings for effective fault diagnosis.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial robots from ABB, Wittmann, Yaskawa, Epson, Star and Kawasaki.
• Support robot-related maintenance, fault identification, recovery and machine restart activities.
• Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Monitor and improve MTTR, MTBF, machine availability and equipment reliability.
• Maintain daily and monthly maintenance reports, breakdown records and machine history.
• Analyze repeated breakdowns and implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and permanent corrective actions.
• Manage critical and non-critical spare parts, including identification, availability and consumption tracking.
• Coordinate with production, quality, engineering and external vendors for timely resolution of machine issues.
• Implement Poka-Yoke, Kaizen and continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality and machine reliability.
• Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities in machines and production equipment.
• Support machine installation, commissioning, modification and improvement activities.
• Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety procedures and company standards.
• Maintain proper technical documentation, machine manuals, maintenance checklists and records.
• Focus on reducing machine downtime, breakdown frequency and maintenance costs while improving overall equipment effectiveness and production efficiency.

What you'll do

• A results-oriented Maintenance & Automation Professional with hands-on experience in industrial automation, assembly systems, SPMs, robotics and manufacturing equipment maintenance. Skilled in preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, machine troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Experienced in handling Two-Part Applicator Systems (Fin Diemme, Graco), Leakage Testing, Light Testing, Annealing Ovens, Vibration Welding Machines, Brass Insert Machines, Screwdrivers, Scanners and Printers. Possess practical exposure to industrial robots from ABB, Wittmann, Yaskawa, Epson, Star and Kawasaki.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams, as well as mechanical drawings, enabling effective fault diagnosis and timely corrective action. Experienced in monitoring MTTR, MTBF, Preventive Maintenance (PM), machine downtime, spare-parts management and maintenance performance data.
