Job summary

RINA is seeking a Construction Supervision Engineer to join its Visakhapatnam office in the Plant Engineering Division. You will supervise construction activities, ensure adherence to designs, safety and environmental standards, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, develop schedules, monitor costs, and prepare technical deliverables and progress reports. A Mechanical Engineering degree and relevant piping expertise are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management and piping design.
  • PE license desirable and construction management certification an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction projects ensuring designs, specs and regulations are met.
  • Progress monitoring and cost tracking to keep on schedule and budget.
  • Implement quality control and safety procedures on site.
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate subcontractors and materials.
  • Prepare technical deliverables and regular progress reports.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Engineer to join its office in Visakhapatnamwithin thePlant EngineeringDivision.

Mission

The Construction Supervision Engineer focuses on contributing to construction activities to ensure they adhere to project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations, and are completed on time and within budget under the coordination and supervision of the Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supervising Construction Projects:
  • Contribute to the supervision of construction projects, ensuring that work aligns with approved designs, specifications, and relevant regulations.
  • Progress Monitoring:
  • Accurately document costs and regularly update progress to monitor the advancement of construction works.
  • Quality Control:
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of construction quality throughout the project.
  • Project Scheduling:
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely progress.
  • Address any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
  • Resource Coordination:
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the availability of necessary resources, materials, and equipment.
  • Cost Monitoring:
  • Monitor project expenditures and provide input on cost control measures to keep projects within budget.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Collaborate with the Construction Safety Engineer to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Issue Resolution:
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that may arise during the construction phase.
  • Progress Reporting:
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key accomplishments, issues, and proposed solutions.
  • Change Management:
  • Handle changes in project scope, schedule, or design and ensure that all necessary adjustments are communicated and implemented.
  • Document Management:
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, drawings, and records of project-related communications.
  • On-Site Support:
  • Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, including site visits to take measurements.
  • Engineering Support:
  • Offer direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams, including gathering data for permit applications and submitting documentation to officials.
  • Project Timeline Development:
  • Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.
  • Technical Deliverables:
  • Prepare technical deliverables, such as technical reports, project performance documentation, and engineering drawings.
  • Progress Reports:
  • Generate progress technical reports to keep stakeholders informed about project advancements.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project management and piping design field is essential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Construction Management or related fields is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining project schedules and managing project costs effectively.
  • Experience implementing and monitoring quality control procedures and ensuring adherence to safety regulations on construction sites.

Hands on experience in Piping specifications, Piping MTO, Piping design, field engineering, Piping discipline actvities co-ordination is essesntial.
