Job summary

Arcadis is recruiting a Senior Engineer – Rail Structures for Bangalore projects. The role focuses on leading a team of engineers and BIM technicians, coordinating with disciplines, and delivering design solutions for rail structures using STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, MIDAS and other software.

You will work to British Standards, Eurocodes, and Network Rail Standards, with QA/QC and client engagement as essential duties.

Qualifications

• BE (Civil) and MTech (Structures) with 10+ years in bridge design consulting.
• Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE preferred or actively pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and BIM technicians on complex projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and define task scope with lead regions.
• Develop solutions from first principles, following codes and standards.
• Proactively engage with region to define task scope and deliver the scope.
• Ensure QA & QC per GEC/Arcadis standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• BE (Civil) , M Tech (Structures) degree with 10+ years of Bridge Design consulting experience
• Preferably a Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE or actively pursuing

Role accountabilities:

• The role will be predominantly technical, and the individual will be expected to have a good foundation in the following:
• Able to lead and oversee a team of engineers and BIM technicians working on complex projects and should be able to coordinate with other disciplines.
• Proactively engage with the lead regions to help them to define task scope and drive the team to deliver the scope ]
• Understand the codes and standards and develop solutions from first principles.
• Strong command of design techniques / concepts, BIM / data visualization and presentation.
• Evaluate the options, develop preliminary design, detailed design for permanent and temporary work and provide site support.
• Proactively engage with the region to help them to define task scope and drive the team to deliver the scope
• Appreciate the safe design requirements, and proactive to flag risks
• You should be able to follow and implement the GEC Management System and take responsibility for QA &QC
• To establish and consolidate relationships with clients and other business leads
• To use technical and domain knowledge to identify and realize new client opportunities
• Adoring upskills and encouraging others team to seek out new technologies, implement innovation, and implement these in projects
• Able to appreciate the safe design requirements, and proactive to flag risksSeeking and documenting regular feedback from clients on the quality of Arcadis performance, technical solutions and delivery and advise on the appropriate mitigation as required

Specific Competencies:

• Competencies of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Experience with structural design software like STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, MIDAS, LUSAS, SOFiSTiK, etc
• Experience working with British Standards, Eurocodes, Network Rail Standards, Rail Group Standards.
• Design of steel, concrete, PSC and Composite structures.
• Design and Assessment of rail bridges and calculating load rating of rail bridges.
• Can work independently Or with group of people
• Preparation of General arrangement and Reinforcement drawings
• Computation of quantities; Preparation of design reports;
• Experience in MS Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Providing technical expertise and overview to client and stakeholders and assisting clients through technical decision‑making and providing alternatives options/solutions if there are changes to project objectives
• Building effective and enduring relationships with other Arcadis offices to foster co‑operation and maximize cross‑sell and trade‑up opportunities in relevant specialist fields
• Ability to manage and implement BIM/Digital aspects through all project phases
• Have a deep understanding of future trends and technologies
• Drive creative and independent thinking within team, including new digital technologies
• Providing reassurance, confidence, and a sense of direction to both client and project team members
• Assisting in the development of Arcadis’s talent through coaching and mentoring
• Understand and implement best practice about sustainable development
