Job summary

Valeo is seeking an R&D Engineer within the Mechanical Team Leader group in Chennai, India. The role is full-time and permanent, focusing on robust design, validation, and engineering discipline compliance to meet customer requirements.

You will contribute to design simulations, thermal studies, and testing activities, while supporting architectural assignments and standardization efforts across multiple blocks and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience in robust design and validation aligned with customer specifications.
• Ability to perform design simulations, calculations including worst-case and thermal studies.
• Support engineering discipline processes, design rules and standardization guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow engineering discipline development plans and customer requirements.
• Support robust design, validation, and related simulations.
• Assist technical architecture assignments and design reviews with suppliers.
• Perform or support design calculations including worst-case/statistical analyses.
• Conduct or support tests and report task progress; escalate risks when needed.

Accountable for

• Perform activities in compliance with Engineering discipline Development Plan of his/her PG/PL Review Internal requirements, Customer Requirements, Specifications
• In charge of the robust design / validation in line with the economical targets
• Support technical architecture and standards assignments
• Follow Standardization rules
• Support design reviews, internal and with suppliers
• His/her scope could include: all or part of the design, integration, validation of blocks / product
• Complying with Engineering disciplines processes and Design Rules
• Perform or support Engineering discipline design simulations/coding/validation
• Perform or support Engineering discipline design calculations including worst case/statistical and support thermal studies
• Perform or support Engineering disciplines tests
• Management follow-up
• Reports the progress of his tasks
• Escalate risks
