Job summary

Auto Components manufacturing company in Bengaluru seeks an Engineer - Connector Design and Development to lead the design and validation of electrical connectors for automotive applications.

You will interact with customers and internal teams to capture requirements, drive DFMEA/DFM, create Creo models and drawings, and ensure parts meet tolerance, testing, and quality standards. 6–8 years of hands-on experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Responsible for design and development of electrical connectors for automotive applications.
• Interact with customers and Sales/Marketing to identify and specify product requirements.
• Lead complex new product design including DFMEA, DFM/ DFA, prototyping and testing.
• Create 3D CAD designs and 2D drawings in PTC Creo for connectors.
• Prepare test specs, decide test methods, and perform testing and validation.
• Engage in value engineering and cost reduction discussions.
• Maintain engineering documentation per IATF 16949 requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and toolmakers on technical matters.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Engineer - Connector Design and Development

Role and Responsibilities

• Responsible for Design and development of Electrical Connectors for Automotive applications.
• Interact directly with customers / Sales and Marketing team to identify key Product Technical requirements / deliverables and establish product specifications to fulfill customer requirements in handling new concepts / quotations.
• Accountable for complex new product design and development products starting from concepts generation, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, prototyping & testing.
• Create 3D CAD designs & 2D drawings in PTC Creo for Connectors
• Responsible for creating test specifications, deciding test methods, DVP Preparations & testing and validation.
• Perform product costing & Value Engineering (VA/VE) analysis.
• Prepare, monitor, update & maintain all engineering documentation in line with IATF 16949
• Problem solving and resolution of chronic issues in sustaining parts
• Suggest improvements in manufacturing and quality to increase customer satisfaction

• Good Experience in Product validation and testing (DV / PV) of automotive products

• Hands on experience in DFMEA / DFA / DFM / FEA etc.,
• Working knowledge on GD&T & Tolerance Stack up analysis.
• Strong 3D CAD design and 2D drafting skills in PTC CREO
• Good knowledge of PDM, Windchill, SAP and similar process/platform tools
• Knowledge of material selection (Engineering plastics, Sheet-metal etc.) and protective finishes
• Knowledge of Engineering data & Change management
• Ability to liaison with the customer, suppliers and toolmakers on technical matters
