Job summary

Vibgyor Energy in Delhi is seeking an experienced professional to lead energy procurement, open access management, and cost optimization for industrial and commercial customers.

You will analyze tariffs, monitor CD/MD, coordinate with SLDC/RLDC, and drive renewable energy projects, including solar and BESS, while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems or related field.
• Master's degree in Energy/Power Management is an added advantage.
• 36 years of experience in energy procurement, power markets, renewable energy, or energy management.
• Experience in Open Access power procurement and renewable energy projects.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

Energy Procurement & Cost Optimization

• Support electricity procurement activities for industrial and commercial consumers.
• Manage Open Access (OA), Captive, and Group Captive power procurement.
• Analyze electricity tariffs, Time-of-Day (ToD) tariffs, and recommend cost optimization opportunities.
• Monitor and optimize Contract Demand (CD) and Maximum Demand (MD) to reduce demand charges.
• Evaluate short-term power procurement and bilateral power purchase opportunities.
• Assist in power procurement planning and contract management.

Renewable Energy Management

• Support Solar Open Access, Rooftop Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Monitor renewable energy generation, utilization, and performance.
• Coordinate with renewable energy developers, generators, traders, and utility companies.
• Support renewable energy integration while maintaining grid reliability.

Scheduling & Forecasting

• Coordinate day-ahead and intraday scheduling activities.
• Liaise with SLDC, RLDC, QCA, power traders, and plant operations teams.
• Prepare generation and consumption forecasts.
• Monitor Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM) and support deviation minimization.

Regulatory Compliance

• Monitor CERC and State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Open Access regulations, forecasting & scheduling codes, banking provisions, and captive compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with DISCOMs, SLDCs, RLDCs, and regulatory authorities.
• Support approvals including NOC, STOA, MTOA, LTOA, and connectivity applications.

Energy Analytics & Reporting

• Analyze energy consumption trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and monthly energy performance reports.
• Conduct financial analysis for renewable energy and energy storage projects.
• Develop management presentations, business cases, and performance reports.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
• Work with EPC contractors, consultants, utilities, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and operational performance.
• Support commissioning and commercial operation activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in Energy Management or Power Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 36 years of experience in energy procurement, power markets, renewable energy, or energy management.
• Experience in Open Access power procurement and renewable energy projects is preferred.
• Exposure to industrial or commercial power procurement will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of the Indian power market and electricity regulations.
• Knowledge of Open Access, Captive, and Group Captive power models.
• Familiarity with CERC/SERC regulations, DSM, scheduling, and forecasting.
• Understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and tariff structures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Solar, Wind, Hybrid, or BESS projects.
• Familiarity with power exchanges (IEX/PXIL).
• Knowledge of energy monitoring systems, SCADA, or EMS is desirable.
• BEE Certified Energy Manager certification will be an added advantage.
