Job summary

Sulzer is seeking an experienced EMS Supervisor to lead our workshop operations in Elandsfontein, reporting to the EMS Service Centre Manager. You will supervise a team of employees and contractors, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality repair, refurbishment, assembly, and testing of gearboxes and mechanical equipment.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop, strong leadership, and a safety-first mindset, with proficiency in SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright or Fitter & Turner.
• National Diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid driver's licence.
• 5 to 10 years' progressive supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop or engineering environment.
• Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage workshop activities to meet timelines.
• Supervise gearbox overhaul, refurbishment, repair, assembly and testing per OEM specs.
• Attend to breakdowns and repair requests.
• Promote safety culture through toolbox talks.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, repair procedures, quality standards and customer requirements.
• Manage inventory of critical components, consumables, bearings, seals and lubricants.
• Oversee maintenance, calibration, and certification of workshop equipment.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders on technical matters and project execution.
• Drive reliability improvements, cost control, and operational efficiency.

About the role

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven EMS Supervisor to lead our workshop operations in Elandsfontein.
