Incumbents in this position receive and evaluate telephone calls for emergency medical assistance and dispatch appropriate emergency medical response personnel to the scene.
Some experience in emergency public safety services, dispatching, or customer service in a call center work environment. OR, completion of a recognized dispatcher training program. OR, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must obtain a current Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification issued by the National Academies of Emergency Medical Dispatch by the end of their working test period and maintain it while employed by the City of St. Louis.
Possession of a current EMD certification at the time of filing application.
