Job Description

The Emergency Medical Technician provides pre-hospital emergency care and supports the safe transportation of patients requiring urgent medical attention. The involves assessing patients, delivering first aid and basic life support within the EMTs certification and scope of practice, assisting with patient transfers, and communicating relevant clinical information to receiving medical teams. The EMT also ensures ambulance readiness, maintains emergency equipment, and follows established emergency response and patient safety protocols.

• Respond promptly to emergency calls and assigned patient transport requests.
• Assess patients condition and identify immediate care priorities within the scope of practice.
• Provide first aid and basic life support according to training and current protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and observe changes during patient transport.
• Assist with airway support, oxygen administration, and other authorized interventions.
• Support safe patient movement, lifting, and transfer procedures.
• Operate emergency equipment within the scope of training and authorization.
• Coordinate with ambulance drivers, dispatch teams, and receiving healthcare facilities.
• Communicate patient observations and interventions to the receiving medical team.
• Maintain accurate patient care and transport documentation.
• Check ambulance equipment, supplies, and emergency kits before and after shifts.
