Job summary

Techmezine seeks a core developer to design firmware for the MANAS autopilot and oversee PCB design across UAV platforms, from nano-swarm drones to heavy-lift VTOLs. This hands-on role covers the full process from schematic design to flight-tested firmware.

You will implement RTOS-based flight code on STM32 and similar ARM processors, develop drivers for IMUs, GNSS, CAN/UART/SPI/I2C, and manage end-to-end board bring-up and field trials with rapid iterations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of embedded firmware development on ARM Cortex-M/A.
  • Experience with PCB design using Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD (2–3 boards).
  • Strong RTOS knowledge: FreeRTOS, NuttX, Zephyr.
  • Experience with CAN, MAVLink, UART, SPI, I2C, USB.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain firmware for the MANAS autopilot stack, including RTOS-based safety-critical flight code.
  • Handle end-to-end PCB design, including schematic capture, component selection, layout, stack-up planning, DFM/DFA, and board bring-up.
  • Work on flight controllers, power distribution boards, ESC interfaces, and sensor breakout boards.
  • Develop and debug drivers for IMUs, barometers, magnetometers, GNSS receivers, and CAN/UART/SPI/I2C peripherals, along with RC and telemetry links.
  • Implement and tune real-time control loops, sensor-fusion pipelines, and failsafe logic on microcontrollers such as STM32 and similar platforms, as well as companion computers.
  • Perform HIL/SIL testing, EMI/EMC-aware design, and support environmental qualification for military-grade requirements.
  • Support field trials, including firmware flashing, in-field debugging, log analysis, and rapid iterations.
  • Ensure compliance with supply-chain requirements, including the exclusion of restricted-origin components for MoD programmes.

Job description

You will work as a core developer on MANAS, our indigenous edge autopilot, and handle PCB design and embedded firmware development across our UAV platforms, ranging from nano-swarm drones to heavy-lift VTOLs. This is a hands-on role covering the complete process from schematic design to flight-tested firmware.

Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Embedded Systems.

  • 3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M/A class processors.

  • Hands-on PCB design experience using Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD, with at least 2–3 boards taken from schematic through production.

  • Strong understanding of RTOS concepts such as FreeRTOS, NuttX, and Zephyr, along with interrupt handling, DMA, and low-level debugging using JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols including CAN, MAVLink, UART, SPI, I2C, and USB.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with PX4/ArduPilot internals or a proprietary autopilot.

  • Experience with brushless motor control, ESC firmware, or power.
