Emerson is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop real-time software for next‑generation controller products. You will work in small, self‑motivated teams with global Scrum colleagues.
You will handle all phases from product definition to production release, leveraging Agile practices and CI/CD. This role emphasizes diagnosis, performance tuning, and high‑reliability software in industrial environments.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
4–6 years of experience in Embedded Software/Firmware Development on Intel x86 and ARM-based processors/controllers.
Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming, with extensive experience in developing high-performance, reliable, and safety-critical embedded software.
Experience in real-time embedded software design and development using multi-threaded and multi-process architectures under VxWorks or other commercial RTOS environments.
Expertise in debugging and performance analysis of complex real-time systems using Wind River Workbench, GDB, JTAG debuggers, trace tools, memory analyzers, and RTOS debugging utilities.
Good understanding and implementation experience of industrial communication protocols commonly used in PLC systems, like Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, DNP3.
Experience integrating and validating industrial communication protocol stacks into embedded firmware and control applications.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, and cybersecurity considerations for industrial control systems.
Experience in embedded board bring-up, hardware-software integration, and troubleshooting using Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Protocol Analyzers, JTAG/Boundary Scan Tools
Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics, processor datasheets, memory maps and peripheral specifications.
Experience with software development lifecycle practices including:
Agile/Scrum methodologies
Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
Version Control Systems (Git, SVN)
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to solve complex system-level issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams involving hardware, firmware, systems, and product engineering.
Self-driven and highly organized professional with demonstrated capability to identify technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and successfully drive implementation through completion.
