Job summary

Schaeffler India is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to join the SW&F (CCP) team in Bengaluru. You will implement, integrate, configure, and develop embedded safety software components with a focus on safety integrity mechanisms and safety software functions.

You will work on FSC/TSR analysis, ISO 26262 compliance, AUTOSAR configurations, and safety audits while collaborating with System, Hardware, Software, Test, and Safety teams in a dynamic automotive environment.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related engineering discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of hands-on AUTOSAR and embedded software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and automotive software development experience.
• Good understanding of Functional Safety standards such as ISO 26262.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and V-Model processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety-critical embedded software according to Functional Safety requirements.
• Analyse and implement Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs).
• Design and implement software safety mechanisms, diagnostics, fault detection, and fault handling strategies.
• Develop software in compliance with ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE processes.
• Create software architecture and detailed design documents for safety-related functions.
• Perform software unit testing, integration testing, and verification activities.
• Conduct code reviews, static analysis, and compliance checks.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability between safety requirements, design, implementation, and test cases.
• Collaborate with System, Hardware, Software, Test, and Functional Safety teams.
• Support safety audits, assessments, and customer reviews.
• Debug and resolve safety-related software issues identified during development and validation
• Support safety analyses including HARA, FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA.
• Integrate and configure AUTOSAR BSW components using EB Tresos and/or Vector DaVinci Configurator (Or any other SW configurator tool)
• Knowledge on MCAL(IO, PWM, ICU, PORT, ADC, WDT, SENT, SPI, GTM, Etc..) configuration for Infineon TC3xx, Tc4xx (TriCore), Renesas, and NXP microcontrollers

Schaeffler India is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join the SW&F (CCP) team in Bengaluru. Responsible for Implementation, integration, configuration and development of embedded safety software components, with focus on embedded Safety integrity mechanism and Safety Software functions, applying state of the art Automotive Technologies, Engineering Development Tools and Processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your Qulaification

Education

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related engineering discipline

Experience

• 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in AUTOSAR and embedded software development.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++
• Experience with automotive software development and ECU architecture.
• Good understanding of Functional Safety standards such as ISO 26262.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and V-Model processes.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of AUTOSAR layered architecture: MCAL, ECU Abstraction, Services, RTE, and COM stack
• Knowledge on CAN/CAN-FD, SPI communication protocols
• Proficiency in C programming for embedded targets (MISRA-C awareness preferred)
• Working knowledge of automotive development processes: ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety)
