The role focuses on enhancing functionality, fixing defects, and ensuring secure, high-performance operation through collaboration with cross-functional teams. Strong C/C++ skills, Multithreading/IPC, Linux kernel and drivers, and experience with Yocto/Buildroot are preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in embedded software on Linux-based platforms.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and Linux kernel basics.
• Experience with Yocto/Buildroot and secure software practices.
• Familiarity with IPC, multithreading, and device drivers.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/ Electronics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for Linux BIOS and embedded Linux platforms.
• Design, implement, and optimize software components using C/C++.
• Develop new features and resolve defects and security issues.
• Implement multithreaded applications and IPC.
• Collaborate with kernel and driver teams for hardware integration.
• Support build customization of Yocto and Buildroot.
• Follow secure SDLC including Secure Boot/Update.
• Collaborate across design, development, testing, release.
• Maintain source code with Git.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer – Linux BIOS to design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for Linux-based platforms. The role involves enhancing system functionality, resolving defects and vulnerabilities, and ensuring secure, high-performance operation of embedded products through close collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain embedded software for Linux BIOS and embedded Linux platforms.
• Design, implement, and optimise software components using C/C++.
• Develop new features and resolve software defects, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities.
• Implement and maintain multithreaded applications and inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms.
• Work closely with Linux kernel and driver components to support system functionality and hardware integration.
• Support the build, customization, and maintenance of embedded Linux distributions such as Yocto and Buildroot.
• Follow secure software development practices, including support for Secure Boot, Secure Update, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams during design, development, testing, and release phases.
• Maintain source code and development artefacts using Git version control.

• Strong understanding of Linux architecture, system programming, and embedded device integration.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as Secure Boot, Secure Update, and vulnerability remediation.
• Knowledge of Rust programming language is an added advantage.
• Exposure to communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, or similar industrial protocols is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
