Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Middleware SME in Hyderabad to design, develop, and maintain software layers enabling communication between system software and applications.

You will build APIs, frameworks, and services to ensure scalable data flow and interoperability across components, with leadership in architecture and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong system design and architecture expertise.
• Proficiency in C++/Python, OOPs concepts and data structures.
• Debugging, profiling, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Linux kernel internals and system programming.
• RTOS concepts and IPC techniques (sockets, queues, pipes, shared memory, dbus).
• API development (RESTful, gRPC) and data formats (JSON, Protobuf, XML).
• Memory management, bootloaders, and interrupt handlers.
• Device driver development and networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, ARP).

Education : B.Tech/M.Tech in ECE/CS/EE or related field

Role Summary :

A Middleware SME is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the software layer that enables communication between system software and applications. They build APIs, frameworks, and services that ensure efficient data flow, interoperability, scalability, and integration across system components.

Key Responsibilities :

• Define architecture and technical roadmap
• Lead design, development, and integration
• Performance tuning and optimization
• Ensure quality, reliability, and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW/SW/Product)
• Mentor engineering teams and review designs
• Engage with customers and define solutions

Detailed Skills & Competencies :

• Strong system design and architecture expertise
• Proficiency in C++/Python/OOPs concept is mandatory and Data structures
• Debugging, profiling, and root cause analysis
• Experience in Linux kernal internals, system programming
• Good in RTOS concepts and Experience in IPC techiques i.e sockets, message queue, FIFO/Pipes and shared memory along with d-bus knowledge.
• Experience in API development i.e RESTful APIs, gRPC, API design principles, Experience in Serialize/deserialize data i.e JSON, Protobuf, XML formats
• Experience in memory management, Bootloaders, interrupt handlers
• Knowledge on Device driver development (GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, etc) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS,ARP,etc) /debugging is good to have
• Participate in code reviews, contribution to OpenSource community code through UpStream patching and upholding best Programming practices
• Knowledge on Harware interaction and decoding data transfer between user and kernel space for application and system level control and data messages
