Job summary

J K Exim in Delhi seeks an experienced embedded firmware engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for microcontrollers, processors, and communication systems, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards.

You will write optimized C/C++ code, develop drivers and middleware, integrate with hardware, and validate through testing with JTAG/UART. Collaboration with hardware, mechanical, and compliance teams is essential.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering.
• 3–5 years in embedded firmware development, preferably in industrial, automotive, telecom, or railway systems.
• Exposure to safety-critical systems (fire & smoke detection, condition monitoring, security & surveillance) is preferred.

Role Purpose:

Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontrollers, processors, and communication systems. Ensure reliable performance, compliance with industry standards, and seamless integration with hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Firmware Development
  • Write and optimize embedded C/C++ code for microcontrollers and processors.
  • Develop drivers, middleware, and application logic for hardware peripherals.
  • Implement communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, RS485, UART, SPI, IC, BLE).
• System Integration
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure hardware/software codesign.
  • Integrate firmware with sensors, actuators, HMIs and external modules.
  • Support system bringup, debugging, and validation.
• Networking & Control
  • Configure and manage networking stacks (TCP/IP, VLAN, QoS, IGMP Snooping).
  • Develop firmware for control systems (PWM, valve & motor control, door automation, condition monitoring, PSU controllers).
• Diagnostics & Logging
  • Implement fault detection, event logging, and remote diagnostics & OTA.
  • Support predictive and preventive maintenance features and condition monitoring algorithms.
• Testing & Validation
  • Debug using JTAG, UART, logic analyzers, and packet sniffers.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and compliance validation.
• Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare firmware release notes, test reports, and certification support documents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (industrial, telecom, or railway).

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems (RTOS/Linux).
• Experience with microcontroller SDKs (ARM Cortex, Microchip, NXP, Renesas, STMicroelectronics).
• Knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, QoS).
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (CAN, RS485, Modbus).
• Handson with debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, packet sniffer).
• Ability to work crossfunctionally with hardware, mechanical, and compliance teams.

Qualification

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering.
• Experience: 3-5 years in embedded firmware development, preferably in industrial, automotive, telecom, or railway systems.
