Job summary

Pump Academy is seeking an Embedded Design Engineer to join our Product Development team to design, develop, test, and validate IIoT, DAQ, condition monitoring, energy monitoring, and edge computing products.

The candidate will manage the complete embedded hardware lifecycle—from architecture and circuit design to prototype bring-up, validation, and manufacturing support, based in Chennai.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of embedded hardware design and product development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Embedded Systems or related field required.
  • Experience with industrial sensors, analog/digital circuits, and MCU peripherals is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the complete embedded product development lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Develop embedded hardware for IIoT, DAQ, condition monitoring, energy monitoring, and automation apps.
  • Prepare system architecture and technical specifications.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Embedded Design Engineer to join our Product Development team to design, develop, test, and validate Industrial IoT (IIoT), Data Acquisition (DAQ), Condition Monitoring, Energy Monitoring, and Edge Computing products.

The candidate will be involved in the complete embedded hardware development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, system architecture, component selection, circuit design, schematic development, prototype development, hardware bring-up, testing, debugging, validation, manufacturing support, and product release.

Key Responsibilities
1. Embedded Product Development
  • Participate in the complete embedded product development lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Develop embedded hardware for IIoT, DAQ, condition monitoring, energy monitoring, and industrial automation applications.
  • Prepare system architecture and technical specifications.
  • Support prototype development, hardware bring-up, validation, manufacturing, and product release.
2. Analog & Digital Circuit Design
  • Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for industrial applications.
  • Develop signal-conditioning circuits for industrial sensors.
  • Design low-noise analog front-end circuits.
  • Design power supply circuits, DC-DC converters, battery-operated systems, and power management circuits.
  • Design protection circuits suitable for industrial environments.
  • Select components based on performance, availability, reliability, lifecycle, and cost.
  • Review schematics and PCB designs and provide design inputs.
3. Signal Conditioning & Measurement Systems

Design and validate signal-conditioning circuits for:

  • RTD / PT100
  • Thermocouples
  • Pressure Transmitters
  • Vibration Sensors
  • Flow Meters
  • Current Transformers (CTs)
  • Voltage Sensors
  • 420 mA transmitters
  • Voltage measurement circuits

Work with:

  • Instrumentation amplifiers
  • Operational amplifiers
  • ADC driver circuits
  • Isolation amplifiers

  • Protection circuits
4. Embedded System Architecture
  • Support embedded hardware architecture development based on application requirements.
  • Understand and evaluate:
    • Sampling rate
    • ADC resolution
    • Measurement accuracy
    • Signal bandwidth
    • Dynamic range
    • Response time
    • Processing requirements
    • Memory requirements
    • Data throughput
    • Communication bandwidth
    • Sensor accuracy
    • System resolution
5. Signal Integrity & Noise Management
  • Design low-noise embedded systems.
  • Support signal-integrity analysis during hardware design.
  • Implement appropriate grounding, shielding, isolation, and filtering techniques.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot signal-quality issues.
  • Support improvement of measurement accuracy and system reliability.
6. Microcontroller & Peripheral Integration
  • Work with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
  • Develop hardware using ARM Cortex-M based platforms such as:
    • STM32
    • NXP
    • Microchip
  • Understand MCU peripherals including:
    • ADC
    • DMA
    • Timers
    • Interrupts
    • Watchdogs
    • GPIO
    • Memory
    • Clock architecture
  • Support hardware architecture definition based on product requirements.
7. Industrial Communication

Hands-on understanding of:
