Role Purpose
The purpose of a design Engineer is to contribute to the creation of smart and efficient products by designing and implementing the embedded systems that control their functions. The role involves a combination of hardware and software expertise to meet the specific requirements of diverse applications and industries.
Embedded Software Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software and hardware components.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize embedded systems for performance, power, and memory efficiency.
- Ensure security measures against vulnerabilities and conduct integration testing for system reliability.
Documentation
- Review project specifications, schematics, PCB files, and cost assessments.
- Prepare and validate software control logic, parameter lists, BOMs, test procedures, and calibration processes.
- Coordinate with customers, management, and marketing for document approvals and modifications.
- Oversee internal and third-party testing, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with production teams for prototype assembly, quality reviews, and third-party testing.
- Facilitate new product releases and modifications, ensuring smooth transition to production.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical guidance to teams as needed.
- Support test jig development, including software implementation and validation.
Additional Contributions
- Implement new microcontrollers, components, or software solutions as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and assist CAD and production teams with technical queries.
- Maintain records of prototypes, production changes, and project updates.
- Provide data for exhibitions, websites, or applications as necessary.
- Report weekly and monthly activities to leadership.
Qualifications
- Course: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in embedded systems development.
Knowledge & Skills Requirement
Technical
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in embedded systems.
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and the development of real-time software.
- Proficient in using hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, programming tools.
