ELV/ FMCS Design Engineer

Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an ELV Design Coordinator in Ahmedabad to support the Design Lead in managing ELV and FMCS design across the project. You will review consultant deliverables, coordinate interfaces with MEP and other disciplines, and ensure alignment with codes and client standards.

The role involves participating in design discussions, guiding technical submissions, and assisting with the integration of ELV systems with FMCS/BMS, security, life safety, and other facility systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Lead in managing and coordinating the design of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems and Facility Monitoring & Control Systems (FMCS) for the project.
• Review and coordinate ELV design deliverables prepared by consultants, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, specifications, client standards and GC execution requirements.
• Participate in design discussions and technical coordination meetings with ELV consultants, Mechanical, Electrical, CSA and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and resolution of interface issues.
• Coordinate the integration of ELV systems with FMCS/BMS, MEP services, security, fire & life safety, communication and other facility systems, identifying and resolving design interfaces.
• Assist the Design Lead in reviewing system architecture, design basis, schematics, layouts, equipment specifications, interface requirements, cable routing and points schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, vendors and specialist agencies to obtain timely design inputs, technical submissions and approvals in line with the project schedule.
• Support procurement and construction teams by providing technical clarifications, design inputs, material/equipment review and resolution of site-related design issues.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and method statements related to ELV systems and provide technical recommendations to the Design Lead.
• Track design progress, identify potential delays or technical risks, and support the Design Lead in ensuring timely release of coordinated design information for procurement and construction.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover requirements for ELV and FMCS systems, including review of commissioning documentation and resolution of design-related issues.
• Maintain effective coordination between Design, Procurement, Construction, Consultants, Vendors and Client to ensure ELV systems are delivered as per project requirements, quality standards and schedule.
