Job summary

Ion Chemicals in Navi Mumbai seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform comprehensive electrical maintenance of plant assets, ensuring reliability and uptime. You will coordinate with planners, technicians, and contractors to execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

The role requires hands-on expertise with electrical equipment, enjoys working across shifts, and supports continuous improvement through lean methods and EHS compliance.

Qualifications

  • First class Electrical Diploma from State board
  • PWD electrical supervisory License
  • 3 to 8 years in Chemical / Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Oil & Gas Company

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily plant consumption and abnormality if present
  • Preventive, predictive maintenance of electrical equipment such as LT & HT motors, breakers, starters, PA system etc.
  • Prepare RCA for major plant downtimes and work on its root cause
  • Focus on energy conservation techniques and implementation of Kaizen
  • Should be able to design SLD of new circuits as per process requirements
  • VFD programming
  • Numerical relay setting and troubleshooting
  • Should be able to handle the shift operations independently, if required.
  • Trouble shooting & fault finding in electrical power & control circuits.
  • Should be familiar with Work permit system, LOTO system & PPE usage
  • Able to read electrical drawings
  • Ensures daily work meets EHS compliance and builds continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Responsible for performing technical diagnosis and repairs
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance to increase asset uptime
  • Responsible for reliable asset repair cost-effectively
  • Use hand tools like power tools daily
  • Work all shifts flexibly when job demands
  • Secure parts, tools and inventory for work orders
  • Communicate and secure work permits and safety equipment
  • Mentor for less-skilled technicians
  • Guide contractors when needed
  • Handle inventory and disposal of parts
  • Input data and close work orders efficiently
  • Consult with engineers and vendors to complete requirements

General Description:

Reporting to the Manager Electrical, the Technician is responsible for performing all-around maintenance and repair services to increase the availability and reliability of the facility and its assets. The role requires collaboration and coordination with maintenance planners/schedulers, parts storeroom attendants and other site functions such as Production, Technical Services, and Contractors (not limited to those). The Maintenance Technician is an active participant in creating, cultivating, and embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement to further the ION chemical Brand promise and Operational Excellence. An Ion Chemicals Technician is also responsible for participating in developmental activities designed to stimulate individual and organizational growth.
