Job summary

UST in Bengaluru seeks an Electrical Supplier Quality engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives. You will review process specifications, engineering drawings, and first article inspections to ensure product integrity and clear documentation.

You will drive systemic improvements, conduct supplier audits, and champion best-known methods across the supplier base while collaborating with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and design for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical supplier quality engineering.
• Knowledge of quality systems and process improvements.
• Ability to review drawings and specifications for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier problem resolutions and drive corrective actions.
• Review process specs, engineering drawings, and FAI for integrity.
• Drive supplier process improvements to reduce defects.
• Audit supplier sites for QMS compliance and root cause analysis.
• Share learnings and best practices across suppliers.
• Engage in new product development with supplier input.
• Support pilot and volume manufacturing sites as supplier engineer.

The Opportunity

Looking for Electrical Supplier Quality experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier problem resolutions, drive root cause and correction actions at suppliers and communicate back to cross-functional team.
• Support new product development/introduction by reviewing process specifications, engineering drawings and first article inspections to ensure integrity and clarity.
• Drive systemic supplier process improvement plans for reducing quality defects.
• Conduct audits at supplier sites – part to print verification, quality management system review, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Proliferate key learnings and BKMs (best-known methods) into the Supplier Base.
• Engage in new product development programs – providing supplier perspective into drawing reviews and product design phase.
• Support Pilot and Volume manufactory sites as the supplier engineer for specifically assigned suppliers.

Functional Knowledge

• Design for manufacturability knowledge, knowledge of IPC-620, knowledge of UL508A MTR, knowledge of AC Racks and Box build
• Well versed in quality management systems and methodologies.
• Value Stream Mapping experience
• Manufacturing/machining process development and qualification
• knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation
• PFMEA knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment

Problem Solving

• Solves complex technical problems that have a broad impact on the business.
• Understanding and use of various problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D, six sigma, etc.
• Willingness to learn and flexible in problem-solving approaches
