Job summary

Oilmax Energy seeks an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee daily electrical operations at the Coal Handling Plant. You will manage maintenance activities, coordinate shutdowns, and ensure compliance with safety standards on HT/LT systems, MCCs, PCCs, transformers and DG sets.

Qualified candidates must hold an Electrical Supervisor License and Diploma/ITI in Electrical Engineering. You will lead technicians and contract staff, maintain records, and partner with safety to ensure reliable

  • Must hold a valid Electrical Supervisor License / Competency Certificate.
  • Experience supervising electrical installation, maintenance and related works.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day electrical operation and maintenance across the CHP.
  • Ensure preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Supervise HT/LT systems, MCCs, PCCs, transformers, motors, starters, VFDs, APFC panels, DG sets.
  • Monitor electrical systems associated with conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, stacker/reclaimers.
  • Coordinate isolation, shutdown and restoration as per safety procedures.
  • Diagnose faults and coordinate troubleshooting.
  • Supervise technicians and contract manpower; allocate daily maintenance activities.
  • Maintain records of breakdowns, PMs, spares consumption and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and site procedures.
  • Take responsibility for permits, LO TO, and safe working practices.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical/Instrumentation/Ops/Safety teams for maintenance.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day electrical operation and maintenance activities across the Coal Handling Plant.
  • Ensure preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Supervise maintenance of HT/LT electrical systems, MCCs, PCCs, transformers, motors, starters, VFDs, APFC panels, DG sets and associated equipment.
  • Monitor electrical systems associated with conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, stacker/reclaimers and other CHP equipment.
  • Coordinate electrical isolation, shutdown and restoration activities as per approved safety procedures.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and coordinate timely troubleshooting and rectification.
  • Supervise electrical technicians, electricians and contract manpower and allocate daily maintenance activities.
  • Ensure proper execution of preventive maintenance schedules and maintain relevant records.
  • Inspect electrical installations and identify unsafe conditions, loose connections, overheating, insulation issues and other potential failures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety regulations, statutory requirements and site procedures.
  • Take responsibility for electrical permits, isolation/LOTO and safe working practices within the assigned area.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Instrumentation, Operations and Safety teams for maintenance and breakdown activities.
  • Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, spares consumption and equipment history.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of electrical tools, PPE, testing instruments and safety equipment.
  • Assist in planning electrical shutdowns, annual maintenance and major repair activities.
  • Support inspection and testing of electrical installations by statutory authorities/client representatives.
  • Ensure housekeeping and 5S standards in electrical rooms, MCC rooms, substations and work areas.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis of recurring electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.

Mandatory Requirement Electrical License
  • Valid Electrical Supervisor License / Competency Certificate issued by the appropriate statutory authority is mandatory.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to supervise electrical installation, maintenance and related works as applicable under prevailing regulations.
  • Candidates without a valid and relevant electrical supervisory license should not be considered.

Educational Qualification
  • Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Trade.
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be preferred.
