Job summary

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) invites a senior SCADA engineer to lead installation and configuration of SCADA and EnMS servers, clients, historians, and engineering workstations for large-scale electrical systems.

The role requires 12–15 years of BE (Electrical/Electronics) and hands-on design, testing, FAT/SAT, and strong knowledge of IEC 61850, IEC 60870, DNP3, and related industrial protocols.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical or Electronics.
• 12–15 years of relevant SCADA/automation experience.
• Experience with SCADA architectures, graphics, alarms, trends, and access control.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104/101, DNP3, Modbus, OPC.
• Understanding of substations, diagrams, and interlock schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and configuration of SCADA & EnMS servers, clients, historian, and workstations.
• Develop complete SCADA architecture with graphics, alarms, events, reports, trends, and logs.
• Configure and integrate IEDs, RTUs/PLCs, Ethernet switches, firewalls, HMIs and networks.
• Perform database creation, optimization, and backup/restore for SCADA projects.
• Validate FAT/SAT and ensure system compliance with engineering docs and schemes.

Purpose

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components. Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Key Responsibility

• Lead the installation and configuration of SCADA & EnMS servers, clients, historian, engineering workstations, and network switches.
• Hands-on experience in developing complete SCADA architecture, including creation of graphics, alarms, events, reports, trends, SOE logs, and user access levels for power and large-scale utility electrical systems (preferably Schneider Electric EcoStruxure solutions).
• Configure and integrate IEDs, RTUs/PLCs, Ethernet switches, firewalls, HMI development, communication setups, and third-party devices with the SCADA server.
• Perform database creation, optimization, and backup/restore setup for power system and large-scale utility SCADA automation projects.
• Possess strong knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 60870-5-101, DNP3, Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC, etc.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of substation schemes, single-line diagrams, system architecture, control drawings, panel drawings, and interlock schematics.
• Prepare and validate I/O lists, architecture diagrams, communication block diagrams, cable schedules, network layouts, etc.
• Design LAN/WAN communication networks, cybersecurity layers, redundant servers, HMIs, historian systems, and interface devices.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot SCADA and automation systems based on engineering documents and functional schemes.
• Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
