HCL Technologies Limited in Mumbai seeks a seasoned Subject Matter Expert for Electrical Power Systems Design to lead power topology, architecture, and high-density distribution for cutting-edge AI data centers, delivering 100 kW to 150 kW+ per rack.
You will set global electrical standards, perform short-circuit and harmonic studies, evaluate MV/LV topologies, and ensure fault-tolerant, energy-efficient power paths with strict compliance to IEEE/IEC/NEC codes, working with top OEMs.
We are seeking an industry-leading Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Electrical Power Systems Design to serve as the ultimate authority on power topology, electrical architecture, and high-density distribution for our next-generation AI data center portfolio.
You will define the global electrical standards, lead short-circuit and harmonic studies, evaluate medium/low voltage topologies, and design fault-tolerant power paths. This role is responsible for ensuring our power infrastructure reliably delivers continuous, ultra-high-density power to support 100 kW to 150 kW+ per rack GPU clusters while maintaining maximum energy efficiency and system availability.
Experience:12–15+ years in data center electrical engineering, with at least 5+ years dedicated to hyperscale or high-density facility power architecture.
Domain Mastery: Recognized technical authority in high-density power distribution, MV/LV switchgear, block-redundant UPS topologies, generator synchronizing, and harmonic analysis.
AI Density Focus: Proven track record designing and certifying electrical power paths capable of supplying 100 kW to 150 kW+ rack densities.
Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineer / PE or Chartered status required).
Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in electrical analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, Matlab/Simulink).
Key Skills: Single Line Diagram (SLD) optimization, short-circuit/arc-flash calculation, PUE optimization, Tier classification compliance, and OEM vendor oversight.
