Job summary

Hitachi Energy Vadodara, India is seeking an Electrical or Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in transformer design to join the Global Engineering Center. You will work in a dynamic team focused on energy transformation, delivering oil-type power transformers up to 60 MVA, 161 kV class, for international markets.

You will influence tender specifications, prepare electrical design quotations, and coordinate with worldwide factories.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5–12 years in electrical or mechanical design for power transformers.
• Knowledge of transformer electrical design, thermal, dielectrics, short circuit and sound.
• Familiarity with IS/ IEC/IEEE standards & Canadian standards.
• Experience with simulation or software development is a plus.
• Strong communication with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to international design and engineering of oil-type transformers up to 60 MVA 161 kV.
• Influence tender and pre-tender specifications through discussions.
• Prepare electrical design quotations meeting factory constraints and IEEE standards.
• Prepare customer and manufacturing documents and bill of materials.
• Coordinate design activities across a worldwide factory network.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Collaborate with diverse global technical teams.

How you'll make an impact

• The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Oil Type Power Transformer up to 60 MVA 161 kV Class design covering different countries.

• Influence specification at the tender and pre-tender stage, through conceptual discussions.
• Responsible to prepare electrical design (Quotation) meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE standards as per project schedule.
• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing documents, Bill of materials etc. as per project schedule.
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background

• B.E / B. Tech Electrical Engineering.
• 5-12 years’ experience working in Electrical or Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
• Understanding of Transformer Electrical Design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics
• Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards.
• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
