Job summary

Oil & Gas Company in Mumbai is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for offshore operations. You will maintain and troubleshoot production and marine electrical systems, including generators, switchboards, MCCs, transformers and UPS, to ensure safe, reliable offshore performance.

Responsibilities include preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance aligned with OEM guidelines and CMMS schedules; compliance with IEC/ATEX/ABS standards; and supporting uptime during electrical failures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 10 years of offshore oil and gas experience is expected.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, API, NEC, and ATEX/IECEx standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot all production and marine electrical systems.
• Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance per OEM recommendations and CMMS schedules.
• Ensure compliance with offshore electrical safety requirements (Ex equipment inspection, LOTO, electrical isolation, PTW, earthing).
• Support uptime by attending electrical failures, performing fault diagnosis and RCA, coordinating with Operations and Marine teams.
• Maintain electrical documentation and regulatory compliance, including single-line diagrams, maintenance records and audits.

Job description

Job title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Offshore

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot all production and marine electrical systems, including generators, HV/LV switchboards, MCCs, transformers, UPS, VFDs, motors, emergency power systems, navigation aids and marine utilities to ensure safe and reliable operations.
• Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on electrical equipment associated with process facilities such as compressors, pumps, gas dehydration units, separators, crude export systems, water injection and marine support systems in accordance with OEM recommendations and CMMS schedules.
• Ensure compliance with offshore electrical safety requirements, including hazardous area (Ex) equipment inspection, LOTO implementation, electrical isolation, PTW, statutory testing, earthing, lightning protection and classification requirements as per IEC/ATEX/OISD/ABS standards.
• Support production uptime by attending electrical failures and emergency breakdowns, performing fault diagnosis, root cause analysis (RCA), reliability improvements, spare parts management and coordinating with Operations, Instrumentation and Marine teams.
• Maintain electrical documentation and regulatory compliance, including single-line diagrams, maintenance records, calibration/test certificates, equipment history, MOC updates and participation in audits, emergency drills, shutdowns and commissioning activities.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in offshore oil and gas, drilling, FPSO, offshore platforms
• Strong knowledge of offshore electrical systems and power distribution.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, API, NEC, and ATEX/IECEx standards.
• Experience with high-voltage and low-voltage systems.

Offshore certifications such as BOSIET/FOET, HUET, and valid offshore medical certification (preferred or required depending on location).
