Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in India to support capital projects through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of electrical design experience and familiarity with Indian regulations.

Responsibilities include developing SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, and equipment layouts, plus multidisciplinary coordination and procurement support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Experience in laboratory, pharmaceutical, commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial building, or R&D facilities.
• Exposure to procurement, construction, and commissioning activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and develop electrical deliverables including SLDs, load lists, cable schedules and layouts.
• Perform electrical load assessment and equipment sizing.
• Ensure designs comply with NBC/CEA/IS and Indian standards.
• Design LV power distribution, transformers, UPS, lighting, grounding and safety systems.
• Coordinate with Architects, HVAC, Mechanical, Process, IT and other teams.
• Prepare technical specifications and review vendor submissions.
• Support construction, commissioning, FAT/SAT and project handover.

Position Summary

The Lubrizol Corporation is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support execution of the Capital Projects in India.

The selected candidate will support electrical engineering activities from detailed engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and project handover. The role requires strong knowledge of building electrical systems, multidisciplinary coordination, and applicable Indian electrical regulations and building codes.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

• Review and develop electrical engineering deliverables including:
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Load Lists
  • Cable Schedules
  • Electrical Equipment Layouts
  • Lighting Layouts
  • Earthing & Lightning Protection Drawings
  • Power Distribution Drawings
• Perform electrical load assessment and equipment sizing.
• Ensure designs comply with project requirements, applicable standards, and engineering best practices.

Building Electrical Infrastructure

Support design and review of:

• LV Power Distribution Systems
• Transformers and Distribution Boards
• UPS Systems
• Emergency Power Systems
• Lighting & Emergency Lighting Systems
• Small Power Systems
• Grounding & Lightning Protection Systems
• Fire Alarm Power Interfaces
• Security and Access Control Power Systems

Multidisciplinary Coordination

Coordinate electrical activities with:

• Architects
• HVAC Engineers
• Mechanical Engineers
• Process Engineers
• Instrumentation & Controls Engineers
• Fire Protection Consultants
• IT and Building Management System Teams

Participate in design review meetings and resolve interdisciplinary design issues.

Interface with facility owners, utility providers, and regulatory authorities to support electrical service connections, statutory compliance, and facility energization activities.

Procurement Support

• Prepare technical specifications and datasheets.
• Review vendor quotations and technical submissions.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor drawings and documentation.

Construction & Commissioning Support

• Provide engineering support during construction and installation.
• Resolve technical queries raised by contractors and site teams.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up, and project handover activities.
• Review as-built documentation and commissioning reports.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Experience in laboratory, pharmaceutical, commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial building, or R&D facility projects.
• Experience supporting engineering consultants, EPC contractors, or owner engineering teams.
• Exposure to procurement support, construction support, and commissioning activities is preferred.
