Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Design Engineer to join a cross-functional global team in Pune, India. You will lead electrical developments from concept to validation and release, mentor engineers, and interface with customers on technical issues.

The role requires a 10+ year engineering track record, a degree in electrical engineering, and hands-on experience with embedded firmware, Altium, and power electronics.

Qualifications

  • Masters / bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 10 years of Engineering Experience.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to lead and deliver projects.
  • Experience in new product development and release.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to build relationships with teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers on medium to high complexity developments.
  • Capture design specifications and generate requirements for validation and release.
  • Mentor junior team members and interface with multinational teams.
  • Document design processes and drive best-practice improvements.
  • Support customer training, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities and ensure timely delivery.

Electrical/Electronics Design Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support electronic subsystem developments through individual contribution and teamwork. The qualified candidate will lead assigned developments ranging from conceptual design to validation testing and commercial release. Support for released designs will also be in scope which include customer training, troubleshooting/diagnostics and maintenance. The position will also include opportunities for leadership responsibilities in a team of early and mid-career engineers.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading a team of early to mid-career electrical engineers on electrical developments of medium to high complexity.
  • Capturing electrical design specifications, generating requirements, executing design and design validation followed by commercial release
  • Participating actively in electrical design as well as mentoring less experienced team members
  • Interfacing technically with multinational and cross-functional teams both internal and with the customer.
  • Sharing knowledge gained in projects through updating documentation and best-practice improvements.
Desired Electrical Skills
  • Experience in an electrical lab with Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, meters, etc for testing and debugging electrical circuits and systems.
  • Medium power (>100W) DC-DC power conversion and motor control
  • Data acquisition using ADCs
  • Small to medium Microcontrollers from TI C2000/MSP430 family or similar
  • Exposure to embedded firmware development is a plus.
  • IC level component selection and schematic development in Altium Designer 16 or higher
  • Familiarity with PCBA ordering and assembly process to support purchasing of boards
  • Familiarity with proper lab soldering techniques to support modification of PCBAs
  • Subsystem wiring harness design
  • Professional engineering documentation of design and procedures.
