Job summary

Fichtner Consulting Engineers Ltd in Chennai, India, seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for power plant projects. You will lead the preparation of equipment layouts for switchgear buildings, GIS/AIS up to 400 kV, and related diagrams, ensuring compliance with Indian and international codes.

Responsibilities include creating single-line diagrams, cable tray layouts, lighting and earthing plans, 3D modelling in E3D/SP3D, and review of vendor drawings.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• 13+ years of experience in Combined Cycle/Thermal/Cogeneration plants.
• Experience leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment layouts for switchgear buildings, transformers, and switchyards (GIS/AIS up to 400 kV).
• Prepare single line diagrams, metering and protection, and logic diagrams.
• Develop cable tray, duct bank, trench layouts and BOM.
• Create cable tray support drawings and BOM.
• Prepare lighting layouts.
• Develop earthing layouts.
• Prepare lightning protection layouts.
• Interface with Civil, Mechanical, and C&I disciplines.
• Model equipment, trays, duct banks, and trenches in 3D (E3D/SP3D).
• Prepare lighting calculations.
• Review vendor drawings.
• Adhere to Quality guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with Indian and international codes.

Role & responsibilities

Preparation of equipment layout for Switchgear buildings , Transformer ,Switchyard (GIS and AIS upto 400 kV), etc,

• Preparation of Single line diagram , Metering and Protection, Logic diagram
• Preparation of cable tray, cable duct bank, trench layout and its BOM
• Preparation of Cable tray support drawing and BOM
• Preparation of Lighting layout
• Preparation of earthing layout
• Preparation of Lightning protection layout
