Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India Aviation & Fueling Division in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Electrical Designer to lead design activities for A&F, Onsite Energy, Data Center projects in the USA. You will develop 3D models and 2D drawings, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure timely deliverables.

The role requires BE/ Diploma in Electrical, at least 3 years of experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks.

The A&F Division focuses on Aviation & Fueling Facilities which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences.

Burns & McDonnell India is looking for an experienced candidate to join our A&F Group in Bangalore office to lead and support electrical design activities involved A&F Projects and on Onsite Energy, Data Center, Food & Beverages, Aerospace & Industrial, Consumer life solution & Commercial projects mainly in USA. This position requires an experienced electrical designer capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. This candidate will lead design, planning and client coordination activities associated with high, medium and low voltage electrical distribution and control systems found in A&F, Onsite Energy, Data Center, Food & Beverages, Aerospace & Industrial, Consumer life solution & Commercial projects mainly in USA.

Key Responsibilities

Position will require extensive interface with Burns & McDonnell project manager, other engineering disciplines, modelers, designers, and detailers locally in the Bangalore office as well as remotely with Mumbai office & various international offices in the United States & United Kingdom. The Electrical Designer will work closely with Electrical Engineer in Bangalore office, and a design team to create world class design on a variety of projects from concept design through completion of construction. Project focus would be a variety of facilities including A&F, Onsite Energy, Data Center, Food & Beverages, Aerospace & Industrial, Consumer life solution & Commercial projects mainly in USA.

1. Responsible for development of 3D model and 2D drawing of various electrical systems for industrial facilities including but not limited to single line diagram of power systems, electrical equipment layout, hazardous area classification drawing, interconnection & hook-up drawing, lighting, grounding and lightning protection systems.
2. Coordinate with other disciplines and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.
3. Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget and complying with agreed project quality norms.
4. Assist more experienced engineers in preparing, coordinating and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.
5. Training new staff members on various tools and discipline practices.
6. Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.

9. Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
10. Innovative and creative mindset to develop and execute design solutions, automated scripts in design software for effective resource utilization.

Tools

• Experience of exposure to 3D engineering tools like AutoCAD Plant 3D, Auto Desk Forma, REVIT, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D and MicroStation.
• Experience with lighting design software AGI-32, Dialux or Visual.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, OneNote.

Qualifications

2. Minimum 3 years of related experience.
3. Knowledge of basic technical theory and engineering principles within electrical discipline.

• Knows how to apply engineering principles for basic design analyses within discipline
• Knows input requirements to perform various discipline tasks.
• Should have good understanding of activities carried out by other disciplines and also of inter discipline coordination involved on typical project.
