Phazys Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to handle the design and engineering of MV/HV AIS and related substation upgrades in the 4kV–550kV range.

The role involves performing standard electrical design computations, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with IEEE/NESC/CEC/NEC guidelines. You will work on general arrangement, grounding, equipment selection, BOM, relay drawings, and 2D/3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, contributing to on-time delivery

Qualifications

• Electrical design knowledge for MV/HV AIS substations.
• Experience with IEEE, NESC, CEC & NEC guidelines is a plus.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD tools for design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design MV/HV AIS and AIS substations in the 4kV–550kV range.
• Prepare layouts, grounding studies, BOM and equipment selections.
• Prepare relay drawings and schematic/panel wiring.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure design compliance with customer standards.
• Generate orthographic, plan/section and isometric drawings using CAD tools.

Job description

Substation Design Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and design of medium-voltage (MV) and high-voltage (HV) Air Insulated Substation (AIS) and Gas insulated substation (AIS) projects including Modifications/Upgradation of existing substation in the 4kV - 550kV range.

Design Engineer / GET / Intern will perform standard electrical design computations or analysis and perform basic design tasks applying standard techniques and procedures.

Work as part of substation Design team, which serves utility, industrial, renewable energy customers who have goals to deliver the power efficiently and reliably, maintain power quality, and control and manage electrical networks. Implement Design and design knowledge of IEEE, NESC, CEC & NEC.

Work with project team to provide design and Design in areas including, but not limited to:

• Substation / switch yard general arrangement, layout & elevations
• Grounding/Earthing studies and design
• Equipment selections and reviewing vendor drawings/ specifications.
• Equipment documentation reviews
• Auxiliary power (AC and DC) design
• MV & HV Cable Calculations
• Bill of Materials
• Lightning protection analysis and Illumination design
• Prepare new and modify existing relay drawings including relay panel arrangements, single lines, three lines, AC & DC schematics, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
• Review existing drawings/conditions and incorporate changes per customer requirements/standards.

Collect data and gather information and support production of the design. Generate design and detail drawings including orthographic, plans/sections, and isometrics by using 2D or 3D CAD software / computer-aided drafting tools such as AutoCAD.

Prepare, update, and support the project execution, in own area of responsibility, and proactively manage this work in accordance with the project schedule with emphasis on; On-time delivery, Quality of deliverables and project costs, project safety.

Quality processes and document control procedures to ensure design documents/deliverables are complete and accurate. Notify the project lead of any difficulties encountered in the design that may impact safety, reliability, quality, cost, or schedule of the PHAZYS project deliverables and provide recommendations for solutions.
