Job summary

Tecso Charge Zone is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support early-phase positioning and develop proposals for EV solutions. You will work with the design team to deliver cost-effective electrical packages and coordinate with civil and mechanical disciplines.

The role involves preparing requisitions, vendor interactions, and ensuring compliance while driving energy efficiency and net-zero ambitions. On-site work in Vadodara, India is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation / Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field.
• Design or project execution experience of core electrical systems within an engineering business or contracting organization.
• Knowledge of common standards in electrical equipment and field work is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of power system studies such as compact substations, transformers, HT panels, LT panels, ACBs, short circuit calculations, transformer inrush, etc. is advantageous.
• Technical knowledge of major electrical equipment such as HV & LV switchgears, transformers, generators, energy storage systems, and relevant standards such as IEC.
• Good communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD document understanding and operation.
• Self-motivated, with strong team spirit; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to drive cost optimization through design and engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to develop new solutions, with the confidence to propose and remain open to new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals based on cost-effective, durable, sustainable, and efficient solutions, including energy storage and digitalization.
• Develop faster, more efficient solutions that bring greater energy efficiency to customers.
• Prepare competitive commercial bids and technical proposals focused on electrical packages, coordinating civil and mechanical considerations as required.
• Carry out preliminary design based on study of tender documents, propose a suitable or optimized solution, and define/select the right equipment/product accordingly.
• Prepare requisitions/specifications for quotations from internal and external vendors.
• Work directly with customers and vendors on technical requirements and clarifications.
• Review and select internal and third-party vendors after evaluation to ensure compliance and competence.
• Work closely with the design team, ensuring strong coordination across the organization.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Apply strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Apply strong communication skills.
• Hands-on work on AutoCAD documents.
• Plan and attend inspection calls at vendor premises prior to dispatch.
• Collaborate across business units and with other technology partners.
• Multitask across multiple project bids simultaneously.
