Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical & Electronics Engineering professional to model building services via AutoCAD, develop 2D substations, and perform basic design calculations. You will ensure QA/QC, coordinate with discipline teams, and adhere to project timelines.

Candidates should have ITI/ Diploma/ Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, with experience in electrical modelling, substations or Oil & Gas projects.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma/Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Experience with electrical modelling for building services using AutoCAD
• Experience in substation projects/Oil & Gas projects
• Knowledge of layout drawings and schematic diagrams for electrical services
• Exposure to British & GCC standards is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work without mark‑ups and familiarity with BIM360 or ProjectWise preferred

Responsibilities

• Model building services elements for Electrical (lighting, power, earthing, lightning protection)
• 2D model of physical substation in AutoCAD; basic electrical design calculations
• QA/QC procedures and ensuring technical correctness
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural and Architectural services
• Meet deliverables within the project timelines
• Maintain quality and accuracy in all drawings and documents

Job description

Role will include, but not be limited to:

• Model building and drawings of building services elements for Electrical services like lighting power, earthing and lightning protection systems, schematics, schedules, etc
• 2D model of physical substation in AutoCAD. Basic electrical design calculations.
• QA/QC procedures
• Attention to quality and technical correctness
• Smooth coordination with other Mechanical, Structural and Architectural services
• Work within time limits to complete deliverables on time.

Candidate Specification :

• Have ITI or Diploma or Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Must have working experience in Electrical modelling for building services using AutoCAD as a software.
• Must have experience in substation projects/Oil & Gas projects
• Experience in Revit and MicroStation will be an added advantage
• Be familiar with preparation of layout drawings and schematic diagrams for electrical services
• Exposure to British & GCC standards will be an added advantage
• Have good written & verbal communication skills
• Be able to work without the help of mark-ups
• Exposure to platforms like BIM360 or Project wise preferred
