Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced EHS / Safety Officer to oversee Environment, Health & Safety compliance for IBMS projects across Bangalore. You will implement safety programs, conduct site inspections, and promote a strong safety culture among project teams and contractors.

The role requires hands-on experience in EHS management for IBMS, BMS, Building Automation or related infrastructure projects, with knowledge of permit-to-work systems and contractor safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement EHS policies, procedures and safety standards at project sites.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits and risk assessments for IBMS projects.
• Monitor site activities for compliance with safety requirements of clients and company.
• Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and training for employees and contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel on site.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers and customers on safety matters.
• Maintain EHS records, permits and compliance documentation.
• Monitor emergency preparedness and response plans at sites.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and standards.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and zero-harm environment.

Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting site inspections, ensuring statutory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and safety standards at project sites.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments for IBMS project activities.
• Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with statutory, client, and company safety requirements.
• Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and Risk Assessment documents.
• Conduct safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees and contractors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualification preferred.

Experience Required

• 3 to 8 years of experience in EHS/Safety management.
• Experience in IBMS, BMS, Building Automation, MEP, HVAC, Electrical, ELV, Construction, or Infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience managing safety requirements at project and construction sites.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and contractor safety management.
