Qualifications

  • 4 to 8 years of professional EHS experience.

  • Govt of India / State Govt Safety Officer qualification approved.

Responsibilities

  • Cooperate with internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
  • Support Site EHS Manager in risk assessment and controls.
  • Prepare and maintain emergency plans.
  • Coordinate with contractors on EHS matters.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Digitize EHS initiatives.

Exide Energy Solutions Ltd is setting up India’s first Giga plant to manufacture Lithium Ion Cells in Bengaluru. Exide Energy Solutions Limited is lookingfor EHS (Safety) in the Manufacturing organization to achieve company’s goal at the Devanahalli, Bangalore Location.

Job Overview

This Position – Safety, Standards & Procedure will be responsible for

  • Development of Standards & Procedures specific to Safety, such as LOTO, Electrical Safety, Machine Safety, Battery / Cell Safety, Robot Safety, MOC, Machine Buy off etc…
  • Machine Buy-off; Management of Change – EHS
  • Machine Safety Expert
  • Digitization of EHS initiatives
  • Chemical Safety management
  • Material Handling & Traffic Safety
  • Coordinating with line managers on EHS matters
  • Implementation of Standards in coordination with Line management.
  • Incident Investigation In coordination with Line management.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Cooperate with the internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
  • Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS Risk Assessment and to define appropriate measures to control risks.
  • Support the EHS Site Manager to prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans.
  • Assist Site EHS Manager to coordinate and control activities with respect of EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operation areas.
  • Provide support and advice to site personnel to prevent injury, damage to plant and equipment, fire, environmental pollution.
  • Recognize the best practices and the good performance.
  • Advise other Site personnel on all aspects of EHS applicable to site activities.
Develop Site EHS Management System:
  • Support the Site EHS Manager o develop, deploy and maintain the local procedures and tools and make sure they are aligned with EESL Standards and international standards (ISO 14001 and ISO45001).
  • Support the Site EHS Manager to ensure that EESL EHS standards at Site level.
EHS Compliance:
  • Assist the Site EHS Manager to ensure compliance of the site activities according to the EHS Plan, guidelines and work instructions.
  • Perform EHS legal compliance checks for specific requirements.
  • Develop EHS culture in the site Inform, instruct and train employees to carry out the work in safe & environment friendly, mode according to the method of statement.
  • Participate in the implementation of the site EHS training programs by providing EHS inductions and ensuring Toolbox meetings are organized.
Report, Measure and Review:
  • Support the EHS Site Manager to capture, report, record, investigate and analyze accidents/incidents in order to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports. Can be in charge of feeding EHS reporting system in line with reporting requirements and under control by Site EHS manager.
  • Carry out inspections of work areas and carry out EHS audits and report any discrepancy.
Desired Profile:
  • Professional experience 4 to 8 years in EHS (Safety)
  • Highly recommended experience for manufacturing sites specific to EV &Cell Manufacturing.
  • Bachelor or Master of Engineering (Industrial Safety/Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical)
  • Approved / Qualification recognized by the Govt of India / StateGovt (Karnataka) in Industrial for Safety Officer
