Job summary

SIEMENS ENERGY INDIA LIMITED seeks an experienced Factory EHS Officer to lead the implementation and continual improvement of the EHS management system within the factory. You will work with leadership, employees, and suppliers to ensure compliance, promote safe behaviors, and drive EHS excellence.

Key duties include conducting shopfloor surveillance, coordinating ISO 14001/45001 audits, incident investigations, and reporting EHS performance data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • ADIS / PDIS qualification recognized by the State Technical Board of Education is mandatory.
  • 10–15 years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environments.
  • Experience in implementation of EHS management systems within factory operations.
  • Certified Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Knowledge of applicable Indian EHS legislation, manufacturing safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience in conducting EHS training, inspections, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Hindi is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and continual improvement of the EHS Management System within the factory.
  • Conduct regular shopfloor surveillance to identify hazards and near-misses.
  • Perform routine EHS inspections and workplace assessments.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits related to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Prepare and monitor HIRA, Safe Work Method Statements, and Environmental Aspect Impact registers.
  • Promote EHS awareness sessions and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with SCM and process owners on EHS objectives and improvement programs.
  • Maintain statutory registers and ensure compliance with EHS requirements.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Factory EHS Officer, you will support the implementation and continual improvement of the EHS Management System within the factory. You will work closely with factory leadership, employees, contractors, and support functions to ensure compliance, identify risks, promote safe behaviors, and drive EHS excellence.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Conduct regular shopfloor surveillance to identify and mitigate hazards, risks, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
  • Perform routine EHS inspections and workplace assessments in collaboration with department and process owners.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities and coordinate with the respective stakeholder during emergencies.
  • Collection, consolidation, and reporting of EHS performance data, including monthly MIS reports and environmental performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with factory functions to implement annual EHS objectives, targets, and improvement programs.
  • Facilitate EHS awareness sessions, campaigns, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives to strengthen safety culture.
  • Support & coordinate internal and external audits related to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Participate in contractor qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring activities in coordination with SCM and process owners.
  • Assist in organizing and executing factory EHS programs, campaigns, observations, and engagement activities.
  • Support in preparation and review & monitor Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Safe Work Method Statement and Environmental Aspect Impact (EAI) registers across departments.
  • Support the conduct of EHS Committee meetings and follow up on action item closure.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Recording & reporting of all incidents as per the reporting matrix.
  • Promote proactive reporting of hazards, near misses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Encourage employee participation through suggestion schemes, observations, and EHS feedback mechanisms.
  • Support compliance with statutory and maintain legal register, corporate, and customer EHS requirements applicable to manufacturing operations.
  • Contribute to driving Siemens Energy's "Zero Harm, Sustainable Future & Wellbeing" culture across the factory.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
