Job summary

Moog Controls (India) Pvt. Ltd. in Bangalore’s Electronic City is seeking an EHS-Engineer to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives for our Asia Pacific region.

You will develop and oversee comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and local regulations, while promoting a safety-first culture across the site. Qualifications

  • Education: B.Sc./B.E. in Chemical or Environmental Engineering plus mandatory industrial safety certificate.
  • 8–10 years of experience managing environmental and safety compliance at a manufacturing site.
  • Adaptability, cross-functional leadership, and strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Regulatory expertise to interpret environmental regulations and implement programs to achieve compliance.
  • Project management skills and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to influence by example and collaborate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance.
  • Promote EHS stewardship and organize training for employees.
  • Identify gaps, prioritize initiatives, and collaborate with site leadership to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze effectiveness of EHS procedures in line with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive actions.
  • Oversee waste management, pollution control, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
  • Coordinate with corporate to manage compliance systems and KPIs.
  • Plan training requirements to ensure regulatory, corporate, and customer compliance.
  • Implement audit programs aligned with corporate requirements and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to enhance EHS committee performance.
  • Develop and report KPIs to track and communicate compliance status.
  • Provide cost-effective solutions to reduce compliance risk and operating costs.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency planning and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, minimizing risks and promoting a safe and sustainable workplace.
  • Promote a culture of EHS stewardship across the organization and organize EHS training for employees.
  • Measure gaps, prioritize initiatives, and collaborate with site leadership, production managers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze effectiveness of workplace EHS procedures and standards in alignment with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with site leadership to accelerate performance of EHS committee members and employees in contributing to the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
  • Develop, manage, and report to site leadership appropriate key performance indicators or metrics to track and report compliance status.
  • Provide site operations with cost‑effective solutions to reduce compliance risk and operating cost.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency planning programs and participate in any emergency situation that could pose safety or environmental risks.
  • Responsible for statutory compliance and CFT management; approve leave, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, OPEX/CAPEX as per the authorization matrix of MCIPL; manage performance of team members.
Qualifications
  • Education: B.Sc./B.E. in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and a mandatory degree/diploma certificate in industrial safety.
  • Work experience: 8–10 years successfully managing environmental and safety compliance programs at a manufacturing site.
  • Key competencies: adaptability, building strategic working relationships across functions, leadership skills, aligning team performance for success, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Regulatory expertise: ability to interpret environmental regulations and implement programs to attain, maintain, and exceed compliance.
  • Project management skills.
