Job summary

Montgomery County Intermediate Unit at PaTTAN - East seeks an Educational Consultant to provide expertise in special education, structured literacy, and English Learners in response to PDE, BSE, and Eastern Region IUs' requests for coaching, technical assistance, and professional development.

The position requires a Master's degree with Pennsylvania instructional certification in eligible areas, experience with EL programming, and ability to work with educational professionals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in at least one of: Special Education, ESL, General Education, School Psychology
• Expertise in English Learner (EL) programming preferred
• Experience providing technical assistance, professional development and coaching
• Ability to work effectively with professional personnel in educational agencies
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI

Responsibilities

• Respond to PDE and BSE requests for technical assistance
• Respond to eastern region IUs' and their districts' requests for classroom, building, and district-level coaching and technical assistance
• Create and provide professional development for educators, administrators, and IU personnel in the education of students with disabilities
• Plan and participate in regional and statewide conferences, workshops, and planning sessions
• Assist in the preparation of publication materials (directories, brochures, training modules, manuals, and electronic resources)
• Some overnight travel is required

PaTTAN - East is located at 2500 Monroe Blvd, Norristown PA.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year)

Eligible to work up to 35 supplemental days/year

Salary

Master's, Step 1: $65,007/year - Master's+60, Step 15: $117,883/year

*Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
