Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking an Editorial Services Assistant based in India. This entry-level role supports global journal editorial teams through accurate data management, reporting, and analytical support, contributing to informed decision-making and smooth publishing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Communications, Data Management, Analytics, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal English with international stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, research, and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple time zones and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and regularly update editorial data repositories, databases, data cubes, assignment lists, and related reporting systems.
  • Generate, validate, and distribute reports supporting editorial and publishing operations.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual reporting, including peer review, submissions, published output, author surveys, publisher, journal publication, and Impact Factor reports.
  • Support data mining, historical data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting projects involving large datasets.
  • Prepare specialized and business-critical analyses, including rejected and republished article reports and other customized datasets.
  • Support usage, citation, and other publishing-related analytical initiatives.
  • Ensure editorial data is accurate, consistent, complete, and aligned across databases and reports.
  • Validate information received from internal and external stakeholders, identify discrepancies, resolve data issues, and recommend reporting improvements.
  • Respond professionally to internal and external queries within agreed service timelines.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across multiple teams and time zones, providing regular updates on activities and project progress.
  • Escalate operational issues, risks, and challenges appropriately and transparently.
  • Follow established processes and quality standards while working with moderate supervision.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and stakeholder experience.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, committees, task forces, and process improvement initiatives as required.
  • Handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Share knowledge, support colleagues, and contribute actively to a collaborative team environment.
