Job summary

Virtual Ops in Ahmedabad is seeking an experienced Merchandising professional to optimize purchasing, pricing, and inventory management for US markets via e-commerce channels.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Inventory teams to identify opportunities and drive growth.

The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and English communication, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in merchandising, e-commerce, buying, or category management.
• Knowledge of core merchandising systems and processes.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams; US markets a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations including pricing, promotions, back orders, and PO placement.
• Assist with sales forecasting, budgeting, inventory planning, and product assortment.
• Monitor sales, pricing, and inventory to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Inventory teams.
• Analyse slow-moving and excess inventory and drive movement improvements.
• Prepare reports for key metrics across Sales, Marketing, Inventory, Brand, and Pricing.

Role & responsibilities

• Support the Merchant in day-to-day operations including pricing, promotions, back orders, ABS inquiries, vendor management, marketing submissions, and PO placement
• Assist with sales forecasting, budgeting, inventory planning, and product assortment
• Monitor sales, pricing, inventory, and business performance to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
• Support the management of vendors, product data, purchase orders, and promotional activities
• Analyse slow-moving and excess inventory and support initiatives to improve inventory movement
• Prepare reports and maintain key Sales, Marketing, Inventory, Brand, and Pricing metrics
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Logistics, Operations, and Inventory teams for smooth execution
• Support the Merchant in identifying business opportunities and implementing solutions to drive growth and profitability category

Additional Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in merchandising, e-commerce, buying, business operations, category management, or a related field
• Knowledge of core merchandising systems and processes is an advantage
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent English communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Proactive approach with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience working with US clients or US e-commerce/retail markets will be an added advantage
