Growth For Impact is seeking an ecologist to join a UK-based team from Bengaluru, providing support for ecological desk studies, reports, and licence applications. You will work across EIA baseline sections, biodiversity strategies, and policy guidance, with strong emphasis on collaboration and attention to detail.

The role requires coordinating with the team, managing time zones, and delivering high-quality ecological deliverables in a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• 2-8 years of professional experience.
• Experience writing ecological reports, including scoping and baseline sections of Environmental Impact Assessments and biodiversity net-gain reports.
• Understanding and application of environmental legislation, policy and guidance.
• Ability to identify a range of taxa using keys and field guides.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work confidently in a team with strong attention to detail.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-level environmental constraints studies and MAGIC searches.
• Collate data for the production of preliminary ecological appraisals and assist with biodiversity strategies and related documents.
• Undertake and assist with licence applications, developing mitigation and monitoring measures.
• Participate in training on best-practice and survey standards as appropriate.
• Set up templates for ecology deliverables and draft formatting guides for staff.
