Job summary

Alstom in Hyderabad seeks an Ecodesign Engineer to apply environmental engineering expertise across tenders and projects. You will define ecodesign and fire & smoke requirements, verify supplier deliverables, and ensure ISO 14001 compliance while collaborating with central and site engineering teams.

You will maintain ecodesign dashboards, support continuous improvement, and drive project KPIs. A technical railway background and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology.
• Experience as an Ecodesign Engineer or in a related field such as Material, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electronic Engineering.
• Technical background in railway industry or comparable industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of international standards and guidelines regarding environmental and fire protection (e.g., hazardous substances, recyclability).
• Good communication skills and fluency in English.

• Verify supplier deliverables and certifications.
• Prepare reports and documentation in line with QCD and ecodesign/fire & smoke processes.
• Support the team in achieving project authorizations.

• Launch and follow up on project KPIs for ecodesign and fire & smoke.
• Deploy RSC processes and keep the organization informed of updates.
• Drive continuous improvement in ecodesign and fire & smoke processes.

You’ll make a tangible impact by driving ecodesign and fire & smoke compliance across tenders and projects, ensuring our products meet environmental and safety standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as central engineering, site engineering, and project management), define requirements for ecodesign and fire & smoke, and ensure supplier deliverables meet specifications, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of maintaining the ecodesign dashboard and fire & smoke project planning, but also support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 certification.

We’ll look to you for:

Defining requirements for ecodesign and fire & smoke in projects

Verifying supplier deliverables and certifications

Preparing reports and documentation in line with QCD and ecodesign/fire & smoke processes

Supporting the team in achieving project authorizations

Maintaining databases to store evidence

Contributing to local ecodesign commitment definition and deployment
