Job summary

Breach Candy Hospital Trust in Mumbai seeks a Cardiac Echo Technologist to perform 2D Echocardiography, M-Mode and Doppler studies per clinical requirements. You will assist in Color Doppler, Tissue Doppler, and other echocardiographic procedures, ensuring patient prep, safety and data integrity.

You will operate and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment, maintain records, uphold infection-control standards, and coordinate with cardiology and nursing teams for smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Qualification: B.Sc./Diploma in Cardiac/Cardiovascular Technology with specialized training in Echocardiography.
• Experience in 2D Echo, Color Doppler, TTE and other advanced echocardiography procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D Echocardiography, M-Mode and Doppler studies per protocols.
• Assist in Color Doppler, Tissue Doppler and other echocardiographic studies.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment.
• Verify patient identification and requisitions before procedures.
• Acquire images and measurements for consultant interpretation.
• Assist during TTE/TEE and other procedures as applicable.

• Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormalities.
• Coordinate with departments for smooth patient flow.
• Follow NABH standards and hospital SOPs.

Role & responsibilities

Perform 2D Echocardiography, M-Mode and Doppler studies as per clinical requirements and departmental protocols.

• Assist in performing Color Doppler, Tissue Doppler and other echocardiographic studies within the scope of competency.
• Prepare patients for echocardiography and explain the procedure appropriately.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment and accessories.
• Ensure proper patient identification and verify the investigation requisition before commencing the procedure.
• Acquire technically adequate images and measurements for interpretation by the Consultant Cardiologist.
• Assist the Cardiologist during TTE/TEE and other specialized echocardiography procedures, wherever applicable and within assigned competency.
• Maintain accurate patient records, reports, worksheets and investigation-related documentation.
• Ensure proper infection-control practices, cleaning and disinfection of equipment and transducers.
• Monitor patients during procedures and immediately report any abnormal signs or patient distress to the concerned doctor.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with hospital policies.
• Ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of the echocardiography room and equipment.
• Coordinate with the Cardiology, Nursing, Reception and other relevant departments for smooth patient flow.
• Follow NABH standards, hospital SOPs, safety protocols and statutory requirements applicable to the department.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification: B.Sc./Diploma in Cardiac/Cardiovascular Technology with specialized training in Echocardiography

Experience in 2D Echo, Color Doppler, TTE and other advanced echocardiography procedure
