Job summary

CFC Hospitals in Chennai is seeking a dedicated cardiac imaging technician to perform ECG, 2D Echocardiography, and treadmill test procedures in OPD, IPD, and emergencies, under the guidance of the cardiologist.

You will prepare patients, obtain consent, monitor during tests, calibrate equipment, maintain infection control, and ensure reports are correctly recorded in the HIS, contributing to NABH compliant care.

Qualifications

• Perform ECG procedures accurately for OPD, IPD, emergency, and health check-up patients.
• Conduct 2D Echocardiography (ECHO) examinations under the guidance of the cardiologist.
• Perform Treadmill Test (TMT) procedures by following standard protocols and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients correctly before all cardiac diagnostic procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent as per hospital policy.
• Monitor patients during ECHO, TMT, and ECG for any signs of discomfort or complications.
• Maintain and calibrate ECG, ECHO, and TMT equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Record, verify, and upload reports accurately into the Hospital Information System (HIS) and maintain confidentiality.

• Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures accurately for OPD, IPD, emergency, and health check-up patients.
• Conduct 2D Echocardiography (ECHO) examinations under the guidance of the cardiologist.
• Perform Treadmill Test (TMT) procedures by following standard protocols and ensuring patient safety.
• Prepare and position patients correctly before all cardiac diagnostic procedures.
• Explain the procedure to patients and obtain necessary consent as per hospital policy.
• Monitor patients during ECHO, TMT, and ECG for any signs of discomfort or complications.
• Immediately inform the cardiologist or treating physician of any abnormal findings or emergencies.
• Maintain and calibrate ECG, ECHO, and TMT equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and preventive maintenance of all cardiac diagnostic equipment.
• Record, verify, and upload reports accurately into the Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
• Coordinate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other departments for smooth patient care.
• Ensure availability of consumables and report shortages to the concerned department.
• Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and equipment disinfection.
• Adhere to NABH standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols.
• Assist during cardiac emergencies and be prepared to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) if required.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and departmental meetings.
• Educate patients regarding pre-test and post-test instructions.
