Job summary

Bright Horizons Child Care Services in Bengaluru is seeking a Teacher / Assistant Teacher to be a primary caregiver for a specific group of children, delivering exceptional care and education, and to be the main contact for families to foster secure attachments.

You will support children's learning and development in partnership with parents, document daily experiences, plan next steps, and assess progress to ensure high-quality early years education within our centres open hours 8:30 to 8:30.

Qualifications

• English speaking and writing skills are mandatory.
• Early Years, Child Care, or other teaching qualification.
• Experience working with young children in a professional setting.
• University Degree/Diploma in Early Years Education or equivalent.
• Freshers are welcome.

Hours

The centers are open from the hours of 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. The shifts are mentioned below:

• 08:30 am to 05:30 pm
• 09:30 am to 06:30 pm
• 10:30 am to 07:30 pm
• 11:30 am to 08:30 pm

Staff are required to work shifts between these hours, so the candidate must be flexible to be able to support each shift timing. The shifts are set on a monthly basis and are rotational.

Reports to: Room Lead / Program Coordinator

Purpose of Role

• To be a primary caregiver for a specific group of children, responsible for delivering exceptional care and education, and being the main point of contact for the family in order to build a close, secure attachment with the child.
• To support children's learning and development in partnership with parents, documenting children's experiences on a daily basis, planning for their next steps and evaluating their progress.

Essential / Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

• English speaking and writing skills are mandatory.
• Early Years, Child Care, or other teaching qualification
• Experience working with young children either in a professional home base or early years provision
• A University Degree/Diploma In Early Years Childhood Care and Education, Nursery Teacher Training, Montessorri Teacher Training, Diploma in Elementary Education, Bachelors/Masters in Education or similar credential.
• Candidates without the above educational qualifications are also welcome. Freshers are welcome as well.

Essential / Desirable Knowledge:

• Understand child development in order to support all children including children with disabilities.
• Good knowledge of the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage and Welfare Requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of child protection procedures
• Understand the importance of and fulfil the role of a key person
• Understand the importance of ensuring equality and diversity in a nursery setting
• Understanding what is important in determining high quality care and learning for young children.
• An understanding of confidentiality and its importance in the early years setting
