Job summary

Khaitan Public School is seeking a dedicated drum instructor to teach students from Classes 3 to 8. The role involves delivering a structured curriculum, guiding beginners to advanced techniques, and preparing students for assemblies and performances.

You will manage rehearsals, support ensemble development, and foster a safe, engaging learning environment while selecting appropriate materials and coordinating with the music department for events.

Responsibilities

• Conduct drum classes for students from Classes 3 to 8.
• Teach students according to their age, ability, and learning level.
• Develop and follow a structured drum curriculum aligned with the school's music program.
• Teach fundamental and advanced aspects of drumming, including grip, posture, rudiments, coordination, rhythm, timing, fills, grooves, and playing techniques.
• Prepare students for school assemblies, concerts, annual functions, competitions, and other performances.
• Conduct rehearsals and help students develop ensemble and performance skills.
• Maintain discipline and create an engaging, safe, and positive classroom environment.
• Select suitable exercises, songs, and learning materials based on students' age and ability.
• Encourage students to develop musicality, confidence, creativity, and stage presence.
• Coordinate with the Music Department / School Management for curriculum planning and events.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of drums, percussion instruments, and related equipment.
• Participate in school activities, workshops, music events, and other duties related to the music department.
