Job summary

The/Nudge Institute is seeking a District Lead – Livelihood to drive implementation of the JH-SAY program across districts in Jharkhand. You will work closely with the DL-Operation to bolster livelihood activities, ensuring timely delivery and high quality outcomes in the field.

The role requires on-ground coordination with Palash (JSLPS) and district teams, along with strong data reporting, stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building for project staff and communities.

Qualifications

• Graduate with relevant streams like rural development, rural management, agriculture, forestry, social work or anthropology.
• 4–6 years of relevant development sector experience in rural development, poverty eradication or livelihoods projects.
• District-level experience in NRLM/SRLM institutions preferred (Institution Building, Capacity Building, Social Inclusion, Livelihood Promotion).
• Own a two-wheeler with a valid driving license for field work.

Responsibilities

• Understand and practice The/Nudge Spirits with Palash (JSLPS).
• Ensure livelihood activities are implemented on time with quality per PIP/SoP/PoP/COM in districts.
• Support District lead–operation in planning, implementation and ensuring quality of livelihood activities.
• Coordinate with DMMU and BMMU for smooth livelihood implementation.
• Organize capacity-building trainings for project team and community.
• Coordinate field visits of dignitaries and officials.
• Ensure timely data collection, entry, processing and reporting.
• Support monitoring and evaluation of the project.
• Maintain good stakeholder management at the grassroots level.

About the Program

Economic Inclusion Program (EIP) is solving for households in extremely vulnerable state through a targeted, multi-faceted and sequenced model involving cash transfer and care, which has demonstrated that poverty can be conquered.

The/Nudge is working in a strategic partnership with the Palash (Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society), Government of Jharkhand, to implement Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana (JH-SAY) in Jharkhand covering 16000 multidimensional poor households in 6 districts and 11 blocks of Jharkhand. As part of this effort, a State Project Management Unit (SPMU) has been set up at the State office of JSLPS, Jharkhand, to help the Palash (JSLPS) to design and implement this special program.

This position is for the District Lead – Livelihood who will be positioned at identified districts within the state and will be working closely with the DL-Operation to strengthen and facilitate quality implementation of livelihood activities in the district. He/She will be responsible to look after 3/4 blocks, and will report to the Program Lead-JH-SAY.

What will you do ?

• To understand and practice the Spirits of The/Nudge Institute and Palash (JSLPS)


• Ensure all project livelihood related activities are implemented on time with utmost quality as per approved Project Implementation Plan (PIP)/ Standard Operating Procedure (SoP)/ Package of Practice (PoP)/ Community Operational Manual (COM) in the respective districts.


• Support District lead – operation in planning, implementation and ensuring quality of livelihood activities in the district.


• Support the district in projects under PVTG Domain.


• Coordinate with DMMU and BMMU to ensure smooth implementation of the livelihood activities in the project .


• Coordinate and facilitate in organizing capacity building training of project team and community in around livelihood PoP and quality implementation.


• Coordinate and lead in organizing any project livelihood related event, demonstration, exposure etc at regional and district.


• Coordinate and support in any field visits of dignitaries and officials.


• Ensure timely planning and implementation of project livelihood activities.


• Ensure proper documentation and reporting related to the project to respective offices.


• Facilitate the timely collection/ entry, processing and reporting of data.


• Support and practice monitoring & evaluation of project.


• Good stakeholder management at the grassroots level.

Who are we looking for in this role?:

• Candidate must be graduate; post-graduate will be preferred, in relevant streams like rural development, rural management, agriculture, forestry, social work, anthropology etc.


• Candidate must have 4-6 years of relevant experience in the development sector/ rural development projects/ poverty eradication projects/ livelihood promotion projects/ tribal development projects.


• Candidates with work experience working in district-level positions in National Rural Livelihood Mission/ State Rural Livelihood Missions in Institution Building, Capacity Building, Social Inclusion, Social Development, and Livelihood promotion will be preferred.


• The candidate must have her/his own two-wheeler with a valid driving license as it is a field job.
